Welcome to my “All of Me” Guitar Tutorial + Lesson, by John Legend. This is the SUPER EASY version of this easy 5 chord song on guitar. If you’d like to learn the fingerstyle version, here’s a link to that tutorial!
This song uses 5 easy basic chord shapes and the most common strumming pattern ever. For the most part, it uses the most common chord progression, but there’s 1 part where we add a different chord to it.

First we take a look at the chord shapes: G, Em, C, D. This song uses the most common chord progressions ever in one of the easiest keys! We practice some basic switches and then play through the main chord progression.
Next we learn the most common strumming pattern ever. (The most common chord progression AND strumming pattern in 1 song? YEP!)
We break it down, count it out and play it together nice and slow. Then we add it to our chord progression and do some chords and strumming.
The pre chorus requires 1 more chord shape (Am) but is pretty simple. We add the strumming and play it together, and then we do the same thing for the chorus… and that’s it! This song just has three simple sections.
We discuss how to put it all together so that you can play through the entire song start to finish and then I have some tips for practicing and some resources to offer you to make this go by a lot smoother.
